With the opening of Jones Day’s Munich Office in 2003, the Firm significantly expanded its capabilities and reach in Germany. The Munich Office has grown steadily to a full-service operation and now has more than 30 professionals. Our attorneys, in collaboration with lawyers in our Düsseldorf and Frankfurt Offices, advise the Firm's international and German clients on the full range of matters relevant to leading corporations doing business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Munich Office also coordinates multi-jurisdictional matters, including cross-border transactions involving targets in jurisdictions around the globe.

Jones Day lawyers in Munich provide the Firm's international and German clients a complete range of services, with particular emphasis on our highly-ranked mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and national and international dispute resolution practices. In addition, the Munich Office has extensive experience in finance, capital markets, labor, private equity, venture capital, real estate, restructuring, commercial, and compliance matters. These practice capabilities are complemented by industry specific experience in the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, information technology, renewable energy, media, outsourcing, and telecommunications sectors. The Munich patent prosecution team assists clients in protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights by filing applications and prosecuting and litigating patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The scientific experience of our patent prosecutors covers a broad spectrum ranging from biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmacy to physics, mechanics, electrical engineering, and software.
