Katie Gothard-Leigh, an associate in Jones Day’s Global Disputes Practice based in the Firm’s Perth Office, has been named "Senior Associate of Year" at the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards. A panel of eminent judges selected the winner from 10 finalists in this category from across Australia. The award was announced at a black-tie gala dinner in Sydney.
The Senior Associate of Year award recognizes outstanding performance by an individual at the senior associate level within a private practice law firm. Now in its 18th year, the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards is a prestigious event which recognizes performance across major legal practice areas, the independent Bar, in-house counsel, innovators and firm-led pro bono programs. There are more than 30 categories where finalists are named and winners are chosen.
Commenting on Ms. Gothard-Leigh’s recognition, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Perth Office, Simon Bellas, said, "Katie was the first Associate to join our Perth Office when it opened in 2014 and she has been involved in some of the Firm’s largest and most complex, challenging, and demanding disputes. This award recognizes Katie’s legal excellence and focus on delivering exceptional client service. It is an acknowledgement of her outstanding performance as well as the quality of our entire team."
