Daniel Mitz, global head of the Firm's Technology M&A Practice, has been named a 2017 "MVP" in the Technology category by the legal publication Law360. The MVP awards honor elite attorneys for their successes in high-stakes litigation, significant deals or complex global matters in the previous year.
Mr. Mitz has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, corporate governance, and fiduciary duty matters. He advised on technology transactions valued at more than $21 billion in the Law360 reporting period. Among his numerous deals, Mr. Mitz led a team that advised Linear Technology Corporation, valued at $14.8 billion, on its sale to Analog Devices, and advised Itron, Inc., in its acquisition of Silver Spring Networks, Inc., for $830 million.
Law360 highlighted Mr. Mitz’s work in the semiconductor industry, which has been undergoing a period of consolidation and through which Jones Day has played a significant role. "We have been very fortunate to have been part of that consolidation by representing both buyers and sellers,” Mitz said. "The fact that we played such a role from the legal side in the semiconductor consolidation, that’s been a pretty cool accomplishment for us."
