The Firm recently hosted a roundtable discussion that featured guest speakers Jeremy Hirschhorn, Second Commissioner, and Rebecca Saint, Deputy Commissioner, both from the Australian Tax Office. Dr. Niv Tadmore, who leads Jones Day's Tax practice in Australia, moderated the roundtable.
The Second Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner discussed:
- Current key trends in the Large Business market, along with ATO focus areas going forward;
- Engagement between Large Business and the ATO; and
- Resolving disputes.
The roundtable was represented by more than 25 large multinational companies with operations in Australia across diverse industries including Big Tech, energy, mining, banks, aviation, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
