The Chicago Office of Jones Day, located at the crossroads of America in one of the nation's most diversified economies, has grown from 14 lawyers at its founding in 1987 to more than 160 lawyers today. Jones Day's continued growth in Chicago—home to more than 400 major corporate headquarters—demonstrates its commitment to being counsel of choice to the city's business community. Drawing upon the capabilities, knowledge, and experience of our lawyers in a broad array of practices, we provide a full range of legal services not only to local businesses but to companies around the world.

Working in conjunction with the Firm’s offices in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, we provide award winning client service and a global reach that matches our clients’ operations and goals. Our Chicago litigation, corporate, and regulatory practice capabilities include Antitrust & Competition; Banking & Finance; Business and Tort Litigation; Business Restructuring & Reorganization; Capital Markets; Cybersecurity, Privacy, & Data Protection; Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation; Energy; Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation; Government Regulation; Health Care & Life Sciences; Intellectual Property; Investigations & White Collar Defense; Issues & Appeals; Labor & Employment; M&A; Private Equity; Product Liability Litigation; Toxic Tort Litigation; Real Estate; Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement; and Tax.

In addition to representing pillars of the local business community, Chicago office lawyers serve on cultural, civic, and charitable boards and handle a variety of pro bono matters—giving back to the city that gives so much. Annually, the Chicago Office gives many thousands of pro bono legal hours handling a wide variety of matters in which we partner with numerous Chicago public interest law agencies. Our lawyers and staff also volunteer in many public service activities, including reading with Chicago public school third graders, hosting Cristo Rey high school work study students, team building with a local charter school, and organizing events for families of chronically ill children, among many others.
