Working with boards can be a very rewarding experience for both in‐house counsel and outside law firms. However, when board members start to take sides on a contentious matter, issues regarding who the client is and how you as counsel should act can become harder to navigate.
This one‐hour program will employ hypothetical scenarios to lead participants through commonly encountered issues when dealing with board members in conflict—a not unusual occurrence, as illustrated by recent events in the press.
The discussion will be led by Alan Seem, a partner in Jones Day's Silicon Valley Office who has significant experience working with public and private boards. He will be joined in this sure‐to‐be‐lively discussion by Steve Gillette, also a seasoned partner in the Silicon Valley Office.
